Color waves

In “Colour Waves,” the boundary between nature and science is masterfully explored. The work, part of a study on light (2015), is an analysis of light refraction and the color spectrum. The diagonal composition is a deliberate choice to visually capture the movement of light waves and creates a rhythmic dynamic. In this approach to color as an autonomous subject, the influence of Orphism is clearly recognizable, particularly in the echoes of Robert Delaunay’s work. The artist uses the technique of oil paint on canvas to achieve maximum color intensity and luminosity, which is essential for this ode to light.

The added value of painting and drawing lies in the ability to create totally new images. Loose fragments of personal ideas and images form the starting points for these visualizations, after they have been mentally deconstructed. Thus, a subject can be looked at under the skin to learn even more about its internal logic. For the creation process of my paintings, I prefer oil paint. This type of paint allows you to work slowly and apply delicate gradients. Drawings are usually a combination of different paint and graphite materials. As a painter, I spend a lot of energy grading and working out my themes. Creating artistic singularities in an increasingly standardized world makes liberating revelations possible. Each work of art is provided with an authentic signed studio stamp with the artist’s signature.
